For our future, it is necessary to replace the existing facility buildings. The reception, restaurant and linen room are in need of renovation. Sustainability is paramount to us, with a focus on nature, landscape and design. Furthermore, for the restaurant, we want to retain our neighbourhood function and welcome local residents and passers-by on foot or by bicycle. In the future, the number of accommodations will be limited to 50 units. The requested permit is necessary for the so-called ‘confirmation’ of the current use (initially licensed for 10 years), meaning for retaining the existing number of accommodations. When these accommodations need replacement, this will be subject to clear conditions via the permit, and the atmosphere will be preserved.
In March ’26, the municipal council approved the publication of the draft permit for permanent planning integration. Following publication, there was a period during which objections could be submitted. This period has now concluded, and we are awaiting the municipality’s decision to grant the permit. A long and thorough process preceded the municipal council’s approval:
The nature permits were applied for by our ecological consultancy to the province in February ’23. One nature permit has since been granted and is irrevocable. For the other nature permit, a draft decision has been in place since the end of January ’26. We are now awaiting the further processing of this permit.

You can contact the municipality of Rheden for information about permit applications, but we are also happy to assist you. We organise a monthly drop-in session on Thursdays from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM*. We will be personally present at restaurant WOODZ to answer all your questions. As soon as a drop-in session is scheduled, we will announce it via social media.
